I’ve been taking a lot of pictures out of car windows lately. Is this any indication of the amount of traveling of done lately? (the answer is yes) This past week, my mom and I took another long drive south. We drove through the capitol on the way down.
I have to admit, I have a slight obsession with photographing city buildings. Maybe it’s because I don’t live in a city and they’re a new/different subject. Whatever it is, I love it.
Much of our journey, like the last, was through farmland and mountains. (the above picture is of a tiny airport… in the middle of nowhere.) Although the skies were gray, it was still breathtakingly gorgeous.
Appalachia, or much of it, is cattle country. We passed so many cattle farms on our way down.
One thing I love about the South is the network of railroads. This track ran along the route for much of the way, and on our return journey, we saw quite a few trains traveling it. When we weren’t looking at trains, we were busy getting lost.
Always, always remember to reverse your Mapquest directions before leaving. Try not to rely on the direction-ally-impaired blogger sitting next to you.

You know what? It’s good to be home. I love traveling (I hate long car road trips though. 12hr drives are not for me…). However, there comes a point when you need to get back to reality. This week, I’m home. I can attempt to catch up on schoolwork and go back to my job. Next week is Thanksgiving break, and I’m seriously looking forward to that. So much.
