Monk’s House, Sussex

August 5, 2013Categories Travel3 Comments on Monk’s House, Sussex

I'd just finished my second book of the day (what else are lazy weekends for?) when a thought flashed across my mind. It's time to put up more England photos. Some things are inevitable, but seem to never happen unless inspiration or motivation drops from the sky - and it has definitely been that way with…

Trinity College

June 16, 2013Categories Travel1 Comment on Trinity College

There's a misconception floating around the US that Oxford University is one school. I'm just going to correct that now and say that it is not - actually, it consists of over 30 colleges (I've heard every number from 34 through 38 while I've been here). As a University member, you are a part of…

Christchurch Meadows

June 7, 2013Categories Travel2 Comments on Christchurch Meadows

"Good morning Miss. Beautiful day out, isn't it?" I love walking through the meadow in the morning, listening to the sound of rowing teams pushing their boats away from shore and feeling the slight breeze from the water. About Amanda

I started this blog as a 13-year-old farmgirl… and now I’m a twenty-something priest in the Episcopal Church. I like to blog about theology, literature, Sherlock Holmes, my cat (also named Sherlock), though most often, you’ll find me posting sermons and reflections that I write as part of my full-time work. Currently based in the DC area.

Saturday rituals ☕️🫖
Restful weekends are a true, true gift.
A long snooze after keeping the human up all night. 😇
Smol but fierce tiger out for a walk #sherlockthesiamese
An unexpectedly quiet Saturday, which resulted in a surprise gardening afternoon with a friend, and rescuing these mystery squash from the neighborhood mulch pile! Also a glamor shot of my oregano, which loves its new outdoor life.
Despite a terrible onset of seasonal allergies for the first time, this spring has been lovely, cool (damp!) and gorgeous, and I feel like I’ve been taking it all in afresh this year.
