The reason that you haven’t seen me around is because I’m currently packing up my room. I know that I won’t get a solid week to pack just before I go, so I’m starting early. Let me tell you, folks – it’s crazy the amount of junk a person can amass over 17 years. However, it feels good to move some things out. Those math textbooks from high school? Being shipped to Amazon at this very moment. That pile of junk in the corner? Mostly trashed, some of it given away. Those personal papers that hold heartaches and memories of years past? Mostly gone, torn up, burnt, except for a few.

You may say, “why throw all those papers away if they hold so much for you?”. The boxes of papers I uncovered were from 2007 through 2009. Those years were not kind to me, friends. But that’s another story, for another time. It feels good to clean out.

It feels good to move on. Literally, this time.

  1. I'll be doing this when I move to Phildelphia. The idea of taking what's most precious to me without the guilt of taking what I feel like I should take is liberating, but also scary. After all, how much can you fit in a 14'4'' x 15'7'' dorm that you share with one roommate?
