Three years

As of sometime this month, I will have been blogging for three years. You can’t tell from my blog posts, because at one point, I deleted most of my earliest ones, but it’s true.

I remember starting my blog while I was an avid (and not that great) fantasy writer on an online writing site. Originally, it was just another place to talk about writing.

Then it grew, and I discovered lifestyle blogging.

People often talk about finding a niche when you’re blogging. Some bloggy friends have recently posted on the difficulties many teen and young adult bloggers are having trying to document their lives on their lifestyle blogs, only to be disappointed when comparing themselves to those whom we term as “big bloggers”.

Not to be cliche, but YOUR niche is YOU. Just go with it.

As I enter my fourth year of blogging, I also enter a new stage of my life. I have less than 12 weeks until I go to college.ย College is not remotely rural or anything like the title of this blog suggests – I’m moving to the city. This fall, things might be a little different around here. But you know what? That’s okay.

I’m excited to see where these changes take us – you (my reader{s}) and I. You, I, and my trusty camera.

I have things planned for this fall for the blog, but a few things are starting right now. I’m opening up a few spaces for web design clients over the summer. (learn more) I’m also opening up a small online jewelry stop with some pieces I’ve made recently. Half the profits of each piece go to a select charity. (go here) {if it looks like both of these announcements are money-making endeavors, don’t be fooled. They are. :)}

In the meanwhile, as my life stays fairly crazy, I seek to live out a life of thanksgiving. Blogging all the way.

  1. Wow… how exciting! ๐Ÿ™‚ I've only been blogging for a year, and I love every minute of it. I know what you mean, though, find our Niche. We so often get caught up in the "big bloggers" and try to copy them; while all people really want to read is our own authenticity. Lovely post, Amanda, and Congrats! ๐Ÿ˜‰
