fashionista – Grammy Red Carpet

Yes indeed, tonight is the Grammy Awards. I’ve been scrutinizing the red carpet fashions, and must admit that I’m a little disappointed. Everyone, even some of the stars who normally pull off a class act, decided to funk up their looks. However, let’s review some highlights, from what I’ve seen so far.

(please note – some of these photographs may not be entirely modest, or modest at all. just because I post them doesn’t mean I agree with their modest or immodest qualities… πŸ™‚

It may look a bit weird, but I’ll admit. Dianna Agron’s look is actually growing on me. I’ll say this – the earrings totally make the dress. Wouldn’t you agree?
*gasp* Can it be Natasha Bedingfield? (love) Top of the dress? Meh, not so much. I’d make it differently. But in general, the look has a lot of high points. I’m loving the colors and pattern. Go Natasha!
Crystal Bowersox – I love how this dress is made. It totally fits her personality, and I like it on her a lot. One thing: Would you pretty please get rid of the dreadlocks? Please??
Dear Nicole. I actually like your dress. Sure, it looks a little bit like a carpet, but hey, that’s cool too. Whatever you wear is better than anything certain other stars clothe themselves with.
In consideration, I think your dress is awesome. It’s growing on me. A lot. And looks fabulous on you.
Julianne Hough’s dress is pretty adorable. No lie. If I could fix the slit in the top *cough*, I would. However, the funky pattern of the material, in an elegant design like this looks awesome. I also think her earrings are amazing…
fails: Kelly Osborne, wearing a clump of lavender feathers. Ahem. Florence Welch, sporting swans. Katy Perry, who took a penchant to angel wings. And Lady Gaga, who did not impress me, for one, with her entrance. *coughgianteggcough*
Surprises: Selena Gomez. Her dresses normally wow me, but this one failed to impress. It was pretty, but just not up to par. Lea Michelle? Same story.
The red-carpet fashion tonight was just, well, weird. I’ll take the SAG outfits, thankyouverymuch. πŸ™‚
I think Adam Young summed it up perfectly on Facebook just now.

“…at least Gandalf should make a guest appearance at the Grammys and do an operatic rendition of himself singing “YOU SHALL NOT PASS!”

What did you think of the Grammy Red Carpet? Anyone else as shocked at how lack-luster the fashion was?

  1. I LOVE Crystal's dress! You are totally right that it fits her personality. Earthy and calm. I agree with you on getting rid of the dread locks though. Bleh! πŸ™‚

P.S. If you see that this links to my wordpress account and you go to my wordpress page, PLEASE ignore everything! I started it when I was like 11 and have never returned. I don't know why this logged me into my old wordpress account. LOL!

  2. Oh dear, we disagree again! haha. πŸ™‚ I think Florence looked stunning and I loved her dress.
I'm sooooo excited for the oscars. I can hardly wait! πŸ™‚ I think we should bet on which star we will disagree on next! haha

  3. Oh dear. I'll admit, it was creative. I'm just not a fan of it.

Oh yes – we must! We're very good at disagreeing. *wink* Let's see, we've disagreed on January Jones and Florence Welch. Hmmm…

I can't wait for the Oscars though!
